“Only one war is required for revolution
that which occurs within the spirit, which abandons the past,
the tired bloodstained passages of this earth.”
For Pasolini, as with Rimbaud, ANGER is directed by the spirit, from the Decameron‘s plague to the dreams of A Thousand and One Nights, conceived in furious desperation. Truth exists in not just one but in many dreams. And yet we have to visualize the space because protest itself is a delicate grace. Because powerlessness in the face of a new purity actually gives strength.
The world is thirsty for carnal fulfillment, from rubble and from plague sings the stone and the smell of the soil: Anger recedes then returns in force, amplified, reborn in a state of divine health, redemption or salvation. And if you have nothing to say, spare us your emptiness, be silent and listen.
