Fermarsi ai box e ripartire. Bloccare e sciogliere il flusso.

Frenare e promuovere.

Art Farm riparte dopo lo Stop. Dice e non dice la Call di quest’anno. Trattiene e rilascia. Il ritmo dello STOP & GO è sincopato e non lineare; non ci si abitua alle ripartenze, non ci si adatta al moto rettilineo uniforme, e nemmeno al volano.

Quello che la Call cerca quest’anno è l’andare minaccciato dal fermarsi e il fermarsi pronto a ripartire. Un semaforo tra il “già” e il “non ancora”, il presente e il dopo.

La Call di quest’anno disprezza il morbido e ama il brusco.

La Call cerca l’impulso ma con dentro il freno. Un arte che non sia paralisi, immobilità ma nemmeno fuga in avanti o laterale. Cerca un singhiozzo, una intermittenza. Ed è in quella intermittenza che sta lo spettatore, colui che non sa quando scatterà il verde ma nemmeno il rosso. Una impertinente discontinuità, con ieri e con domani.

La Call è aperta a tutte le forme di arte: installazione, pittura, scultura, mixed media e performance.

Pull over to the pit and then start again. Come to a standstill and go with the flow.

Halt and advance.

Artfarm restarts after the stop. It is said and not said in this year’s Call. Hold and release. The rhythm of STOP & GO is syncopated and non-linear: You don’t acclimate to the restarts; You don’t adapt to unvarying linear motion, nor to stimulus or provocation.

What the Call is looking for this year is the going jeopardized by stopping and the stopping ready to take off again. A traffic signal between the “already” and the “not yet”, the present and the after.

This year’s Call despises the soft and loves the abrupt.

The Call seeks a reflex, an impulse with a built-in brake. An art that is not paralysis or immobility but which also does not escape sideways or forwards. It looks for a hiccup, an intermittence. And it is in that irregularity that the spectator finds themselves, not knowing when the green or the red will flash. An impertinent discontinuity, with yesterday and with tomorrow.

La Ca’ Ottolina, villa di campagna del ‘600 circondata da edifici rustici in buona parte ancora in uso, si trova in nord Italia, Località Pilastro di Bonavigo, Verona, a 20 chilometri dal centro città.

The Ca’ Ottolina, a large country house dating from the 1600s surrounded by rustic buildings mostly still in use, is located in Pilastro di Bonavigo in the province of Verona, in Northern Italy, about 20 kilometers from the city center.

La selezione e il numero dei partecipanti sarà effettuata dall’associazione a sua esclusiva discrezione.
La prima inaugurazione si svolgerà venerdì, 28 giugno, 2024 alle 21.
Gli organizzatori e la proprietà non assumono nessuna responsabilità sulle opere prodotte o portate a Pilastro.
È una residenza privata che finanzia l’organizzazione e che con libertà e in piena autonomia decide.
La manifestazione sarà promossa presso i media e testate giornalistiche. Le immagini degli artisti partecipanti potranno essere utilizzate per promuovere l’evento. Verrà inviato agli artisti partecipanti materiale digitale e cartaceo per la promozione dell’evento.

Conditions

The selection and total number of participants is at the sole discretion of the organizers.
The opening will be on Friday, the 28th of June, 2024 at 9pm.
The organizers and owner do not assume any responsibility for the works produced or brought to Pilastro.
Artfarm Pilastro is a privately funded residency. The organization has final say on all matters.
The event will be promoted in the media and newspapers. Images by participating artists may be used to promote the event. Digital and paper promotional materials will be sent to the participating artists.
